Gossip Girl is an American teen drama television series, based on the novels of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar. The series was created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, premiered on The CW on September 19, 2007, and ended on December 17, 2012.

The series is narrated by an omniscient blogger, known as Gossip Girl (La Reina Gossip in Spain and Indiscrete Girl in Latin America) who, from her anonymity, reviews the secrets and most intimate issues of a group of young people from high society in the Upper East Side neighborhood. in Manhattan, New York.

This story begins with the return of Serena van der Woodsen (character played by Blake Lively) to the neighborhood after a mysterious stay at a boarding school in Cornwall, Connecticut. However, the most important character in the series is Blair Waldorf (played by Lighton Meester), Serena's best friend. Blair is the Queen Bee of the school, popular if ever there was one.

The plot also follows other characters such as Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), the neighborhood bad boy, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Chuck's best friend and Blair's boyfriend, Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), a boy from humble origins with whom Serena has a complicated romantic relationship with Vannesa Abrams (Jessica Szohr), Dan's best friend and ex-girlfriend, and Jenny Humprey (Taylor Momsen), a fifteen year old teenager who is Dan's sister.

The success of Gossip Girl led to international adaptations outside the United States. The series has received numerous nominations for different awards, including 18 Teen Choice Awards.
